Have you Checked your Builder's Resume?

The best indoor & outdoor kitchens are built by people who actually cook, cook often, and who have a genuine passion for the culinary arts.

Greg has added smoking to his repertoire of culinary skills.

Hover on this image to see what this bird looks like after it's done!  What does Greg do to relax?  He barbeques, creates recipes, throws a brisket on the smoker and yes he gets up in the middle of the night to check it... This architect-builder can make the best maple-pecan scones you have ever tasted and throw together the most incredible prosciutto wrapped chicken with basil aioli without breaking a sweat.  And yes...naturally...Greg loves to design kitchens...indoor...outdoor...and he customizes each design and build specifically to his clients.  Do they entertain, have large families, prefer a specific type of food, like a kitchen with a massive island, one with a back kitchen to house a plethora of cooking appliances, specialized storage for seasonal or specialized dinnerware, settings, linens and tools?

Are you a coffee lover who would like a built in espresso machine or a custom coffee bar?   Well you are in luck.  Greg worked at a coffee shop putting himself through architecture school.  He was not only a barista in his past life, but he has an extensive knowledge of coffee and espresso machines.  And he LOVES everything about coffee! Coffee bars and coffee stations should never be an afterthought. He will guide you through the process of selecting machines once he understands your personal preferences so your morning coffee is designed with you in mind.

Are you a wine lover?  Well you are in luck again...Greg not only frequents wine country, but he is also a level 1 sommelier.  He can design you a custom bar, wine cellar or a wine storage area so beautiful that it becomes a focal point of your home.  Constructing anything wine related requires an in-depth knowledge of proper wine storage.  Greg can include an under counter or traditional wine fridge in his design or perhaps you would like a traditional cellar with a tasting room?  He has done it all...

So, when you a hire a builder...what value are you getting for your investment?  Ask your builder what specialty experiences and special interests he or she has..and is the head of the company an architect as well?  This makes a huge difference in preventing costly errors, protecting timelines and client investment, and ensuring that client wishes are respected.  Are you only getting a licensed contractor?  Or are you also getting an architect, and someone who personally understands what a discerning client wants in their kitchen and entertaining spaces? Are you getting someone who loves to travel, camp and fish, golf, and understands the needs of someone who might like to collect cars? (more on that later...) A home is a significant investment and you deserve a builder who offers concierge service and makes the effort to understand how you live your life.
